ACPS Programs and PTA Units Benefit from Spring2ACTion

Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s annual day of giving, was a fundraising success. The robust response for the online event, held on April 26, 2023, helps support nonprofit organizations in Alexandria. Funds raised during the event also benefit various Alexandria City Public Schools programs and the Alexandria PTA Council (PTAC) and school PTA units that participated.

“What a night for PTAs across Alexandria! What an affirmation of the work and our mission to make every child’s potential a reality. Thanks to the generosity of this community, 14 PTA units across the division raised a combined $86,360 and the Alexandria PTA Council exceed our goal of $5,000 to support the Title I units that do not have the same financial support others enjoy,” PTAC President Missy Santoro Estabrook said. “These funds will help us provide field trip equity to kids who deserve the same opportunities and experiences as their counterparts in other parts of the city! They will allow us to support membership campaigns to grow those units, plan more family engagement events to bring their families together and put extra school supplies in the hands of children who need them the most. I’m so proud of our dedicated PTA leaders and the amazing volunteers they inspire every day. Thank you to all the donors who made this incredible day possible for ACPS children and families!”

In its 13th year, Spring2ACTion provides an easy way to connect donors and the causes they care about most. This year more than 8,00 donors were secured and over $2,900,000 was raised as of the night of April 27, 2023.

It is not too late to contribute to the Spring2ACTion fundraiser, as it continues to accept donations through April 30, 2023, at 11:59pm.
